Christ’s Cross…

Of well known symbols,
Is the Cross…

‘Carry your cross’…
You’ll hear it said,
With a meaning deep

Ages back
Was The Cross event
The core of Christianity
It wasn’t just another cross
But the Cross, which Christ hung
Bringing forth redemption, to human kind

Commemoration of the Cross event
The reason for the season…

When you see the Cross
Remember Christ… His agony on the Cross
That there’d be salvation, for you and me

May this Cross, be of significance to you

Have a Blessed ‘ Christ’s Cross’ Season…

Easter Is About…

It’s neither about Easter Eggs,
Nor Easter Pumpkins,
It’s neither about Easter bunnies,
Nor Easter hot-Cross buns

It’s about;
The crown of thorns,
The nails,
The CROSS….

It’s about;
Our Lord Jesus Christ ….
His Crucifixion…
Crucifying sins,
His death hence…

It about;
The Resurrection,
Of Our Lord Christ Jesus,
Into a new life

Death of sins,
Rising in righteousness

May this Easter Season,
Bring the Re-realization,
Of Christ’s agony,
On the Cross,
Hence the grace,
For forgiveness of sins

Happy Easter Holy-Holidays….

Depression is Made of This…

  • When the sun’s shining and you seem neither to see its brightness nor feel its warmth…
  • When you hear the birds singing and it sounds like noise…
  • When life’s realities become comparable to nightmares …
  • When if it’s not tears flowing in their volumes, then it’s a stinging in the eyes and they look all watery /teary
  • When you remember the verse ‘Tears are my food day and night’, you know too well how that is and how they taste…
  • When one of the most comforting verses is ‘You keep track of all my all my sorrows, You have collected all my tears in a bottle’~ Psalms 56:8
  • When there is such pain within, a pain you can’t put a finger on, but it’s there…
  • When you are so hurting and no words can explain the extent and intensity of it…
  • When you have a dizziness that won’t just leave…
  • When you just want to lie down and hope sleep takes you up to wherever it takes someone and hope not to wake up any soon
  • When you don’t want to look at yourself on the mirror, scared of seeing the dreadful look
  • When you look at your pictures of days gone and seeing the beautiful smiles and cheerful looks you wonder whether there were really such times…
  • Memories of beautiful days come to mind and you see a picture of yourself in your mind and it’s like just a sculpture of sorts…
  • When you try to do what there is to be done, but you can’t focus…concentration equals nil…
  • When you hear or see people laughing and wonder what there is to laugh about…
  • When you get to be really sad, you don’t wanna say a thing…
  • When you try to talk, no voice seems to come out..it’s like your vocal codes are gagged…
  • When nothing seems to taste good, be it food or drink…
  • When you don’t look forward to tomorrow for the pain today is bad enough already
  • When you are utterly scared of what may come to be
  • When nothing seems to make sense at all…

What to do when these and more are facts in ones life…

When all this and more along these lines is what you are going through,
It indicates something, the something being some sort of depression.
It’s good to acknowledge what you are going through; realizing there is a problem, for it’s is the first step towards healing…

What better time to come to terms with all this but this Easter Season…Taking it all to Jesus, He who is able to set free from all the chains binding, calm the storms causing these situations, get you out of these less than desirable situations that seem to be holding one down…

Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you ~ 1Peter 5:7

God cares about all that I’m going through, up to the last details, I will wait on Him. May He lead and guide me, letting me know what this is all about…is there any significance to all these?

I can only look forward to sing out the verse that says ‘He Has turned my mourning into dancing again’

There’s One Who Care…

This life here,
With challenges to bear,
May make me fear,
What lies in the future,
Be it far or near,
Which is anything, but sure…

Thus I cast all my care,
To He who hold that future,
He, who really do care…

With Him I can persevere,
He is my comforter,
Amidst any terror…

Symbols They Are…

Symbols…..
In varieties as diverse, they come…
Maybe in form of Objects, Attires,
Writings, Images,
Drinks, Foods…and more…
I mean, they can be anything!
Everywhere you look, you’ll see some,
The common ones, well known of all over,
As well as some downright strange ones,
With myriad of meanings, they are loaded,
Some of which may not make sense…
Significant only to those they apply to…

Such is the world of Symbols!
Symbolism a timeless act,
Symbolic language they make…
Speaks tons in its way…

Spiritual Depression…

In many forms, comes depression,
Among them is, Spiritual Depression,
Mh….?
Oh, yeah, there’s Spiritual Depression…

It’s a foggy state,
Many a questions arise,
Disheartening are the uncertainties,
Sort of disillusionment arise

It’s like a steep descent,
Into a deep, dark, bottomless pit,
Falling lower and lower, feeling helpless,

It’s a state of discouragement,
Loneliness, hopelessness, heaviness…
‘Where did it all go?’
‘How do I get it back?’
One wonders….

At a point, halting the fall,
Would suffice, to better the situation,
Leave alone getting out of there…

It’s like God is miles and miles away…
Unreachable!
If only, you’d hear Him…
So clearly, for the reassurance…
That He’s still there…

Spiritual depression,
Is made up of such…

Finally, Eighth Sunday…

After several Sundays of registering ladies enrolling for the Women of Impact (WoI) Bible Study, the BS started well on the 27th February 2011. During the registration one of the frequently asked question was ‘How long would it take?’The BS takes eight (8) weeks which means eight (8) Sundays. 8 weeks! Some would find it an awfully long time/ many Sundays when one is expected to get to Church earlier than usual for those who attend Second Service or leave Church later than usual for those who attend First Service, given that the BS hour is time between the two services.

Today April 17, 2011, mark the end of the eight (8) weeks /Sundays!! Was it to be that soon? Time’s like been flying….

Some who registered never attended, others dropped out at some point for various reasons and others missed  some classes, as long as one didn’t miss four or more classes, the moms organize for make up classes else one is not to be on the graduates/ commissioning list….

It’s been a wonderful eight (8) weeks /Sundays for those who managed to remain committed to the BS. The BS is all about fellowship where ladies learn, share, bond etc. It’s been exciting and some ladies were asking for more of such….they go like ‘Is there another book we are going to be doing together?’ We’ve been thinking along those lines…like we should be having continuity of the Bible Studies and not only the seasonal WOI BS currently there. Still on the same, there are groups which already have that, organizing amongst themselves to do various devotional books together as ladies instead of joining other Church Bible Studies…

For now, we look forward to the commissioning day…it’s going to be a colorful occasion for sure!!  What with all the ladies being commissioned uniformly dressed for the occasion in White tops, Black skirt or pants-whatever one like- and blue scarves whose use (tying them) is limited to one’s imagination….one can put it on as stylishly as they fancy!

I remember how excited I was on our Commissioning day which was on October 17th 2010…the same day I was assigned two ladies to take through the Study at their time of convenience….we used to have our classes on Thursdays 4-5pm which was really good relaxed time….In addition to those two, this time round I had other seven, unfortunately one of them dropped out on the forth Study because of her work schedule, but she’s still my daughter…

Anyway, it’s  great being a mother and mothering…Ones a mother always one…one doesn’t just bear and neglect…it’s up to a mom to keep up with being one…what’s more…when responsibilities become many…I can now gladly designate some tasks…and also look forward to my daughters being mothers too…

Happy for today, for the weeks past, and looking forward to all days ahead in service in the ladies Ministry..It’s the one area I feel comfy with and my desire is to do all I can to gladly being of service knowing I’m doing it for my Lord….Impacting Ladies for the God…bearing in mind it’s not about studying a book through, based on various topics, but rather the the application of the same in one’s day to day life whenever wherever
