Love, I Need You So…

Love,
Delicate as you are,
I need you so,
To handle you with care,
So you last forever,
I can’t do without you,
Being without you,
Is like suicide,
Waiting to happen…

Love is Like a Glass…

Love,
Like a clear glass,
Through it, one can see,
Easily notable, is a crack in it,
Delicate it is, can easily break

Love
Once broken,
Its pieces are left,
Painful, hurting reminder,
Of what has been,
What was,
What it did…
How it served you….

Love,
When in it,
Take care of it…

‘Kneeology’…!

There is;
Biology, microbiology
Dermatology, Pharmacology,
Physiology, Psychology,
Phrenology, Oncology,
Sociology, Theology,
Technology, Zoology….
Just to mention a few of ‘ology’ relatives,
The list seemingly endless…

But,
Did you ever hear of ‘Kneeology ‘?
Probably not…
You won’t get it in the dictionaries,
How could they have missed it out?

It neither requires endless lab hours,
Nor is it made up of loads of theories…

It’s getting down on one’s knees,
Communing with the maker,
Speaking out one’s mind, heart and all,
To He who cares and listens to one’s call,
Placing oneself in the core of His will…
That’s what makes up ‘kneeology’….
Pursue ‘Kneeology’,
All else will follow….

In another word,
‘Kneeology’ is Prayer…

Thought We had It Sorted out…

Week Five (Study 5)

In the Women of Impact Bible Study (WOI BS), week five or study five is usually conducted as a combined study, that is, all the BS groups come together and it’s usually the Ladies Ministry patron who presides over the BS. It’s a BS cum fun time since she poses some questions based on the BS just for fun, at times with rewards for the best responses.

Sunday 27th March was to be the day for the combined BS. I had performed my duty of sending reminder mails and text messages, about the day and timing, to all persons concerned, the BS moms, the BS attendees (daughters) and leaders.

I had looked forward to the day, and even hinted to my daughters what goes on so they could be set for it. I urged them to be punctual following study four’s incident, and we agreed that they should respect time and be early.

Come Sunday, I had to be in Church quite early to ensure all was set for the day. Thankfully, my friend AnnaMarie, was also early and assisted with the preparations.

It was soon time for the BS with the leaders already there, the other moms and their daughters. The first thing that happens at this session is to identify moms and their daughters to check the attendance and all…When it came for my turn, the disappointment that befell me is unspeakable…honestly I felt like crying out of it…How now? I thought we had agreed time keeping was to be observed….unfortunately, my one ever punctual daughter who is so reliable had informed me earlier that she had been called on duty…being in the medical field that is expected and she was absent with apology…The rest turned up so much later when the damage had already been done on me….There I was, was the first to get there together with AnnaMarie, and there were my daughters getting there the last!!! Talk of challenges….if disappointment isn’t made of this then what is it? Being a leader at whatever capacity is no easy…in this case ’mothering’ ladies in BS, and it so happens almost all are older than me….Any way, I have to exercise calmness in all these, and pray that my daughters come to realize how bad it is disrespecting peoples’ time….The time keeper I am….you can only imagine how I felt….

Time Keeping…So Difficult??

A few weeks ago, we started the Women of Impact (WOI) Bible study (BS). The Bible study started very well. Being a BS mother of seven and also coordinating the BS at large it’s been quite a Challenge since then, with so much follow ups and communication to do with the rest of the moms, the WOI Ladies Ministry leaders not forgetting keeping in touch with my daughters over weekdays.

The second and third studies went well. It was on the Sunday when we had the 3rd Study that my daughters and I agreed we have a sort of bonding and sharing session on the Sunday that was to follow, while on the 4th study. These sessions are very much encouraged by our leaders since enhancement of relationship among the ladies is the essence of the BS. What happens is that you set a day when you can have ample of time together other than the rushed BS hour. I organized it all, I even communicated over the week before last Sunday to remind and confirm to them that the plans were still on. I told them at what time we were to meet and the place we were to be at. I was so blessed to have gotten a very nice room at Church which used to be an office for us to meet at other than the usual open air BS under the tents where there are quite a number of BS groups.

The day came that was last Sunday, March 20th. I was all set. I love being on time, I’m never late and I hate lateness. I got to Church very early, long before the meeting time so that I could get the meeting place ready, despite the weather. Mind you I had slept very late having gotten home way past midnight after having been to help a friend grade and pack flowers for export…. I was to serve us breakfast during that session, which was well taken care of. With everything ready what was left to do was to wait for my daughters to come for our mother-daughter, sister-sister time…..

The minutes passed on, no one showing up before time, a few minutes past the set meeting time, one of my daughters showed up who is also the group’s time keeper. We then waited for the others as time passed by….two of them sent text messages that they couldn’t make it…this sending of messages on the day of the function when already it was time for the meeting was annoying enough….We waited on for the others to show up. It wasn’t until it was too late that they came. Time was so much gone that we couldn’t have our bonding session. It was too late when they came that we rushed through the BS lesson of the day!

Honestly, I was so disappointed, even upset with that happening. I really tried hard to keep my calm…Luckily for me, as soon as we were done with the BS, a young girl who’s my friend called me to tell me she was around and would like us to meet before Church service began. Last time I was with her, she had so admired my bracelet, and I promised to get one for her. I had it with me, so I gave it to her. She was so excited! She made my day as we chat on lots of stuff….she’s great company! She really cheered me up with her unending stories and questions….kids are very interesting….

I D.A.N.I.E.L

I
Dream –day and night,
About
Nice
Interesting
Exciting
Life

When I D.A.N.I.E.L,
I can still afford a smile,
Amidst and against all odds,
A smile loaded with expectation,
Believing in things yet unseen,
Being sure of the anticipations,
That they’ll come to pass,
It’ll not always be like this…

On and on I D.A.N.I.E.L
My solace is D.A.N.I.E.L
Oh D.A.N.I.E.L!
My sweet escape…
From my reverie,
I don’t wanna wake…
How I love D.A.N.I.E.L….

When Seemingly, There Is Nothing…

When all seems dull,
When nothing looks good,
When nothing nice I feel,
When nothing’s looking up,
When nothing seems to work…

When there is;
No adventure,
No fun,
No thrills,
Like there’s totally nothing…
When all appears at a standstill…
And from the nothingness, anxiety threatens…

I remember…

‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God
And the peace of God,
which surpasses all comprehension,
Shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’

Thus advices the good book…

So,
I get down to prayer,
Praying about everything,
Committing even the nothingness in prayer,
To He who’s able,
To make something out of nothing…

When I Pray,
Somehow, amidst the nothingness,
I find something,
Peace I find…
Knowing He who cares,
Is in control even in the nothingness,
I will hence,
Continually pray for continual peace,
With Him and by Him,
Something can be forged,
From the nothingness within and around
