We are Kenyans, We make Kenya

We are a people,
A people of a nation,
A people of Kenya

We are Kenyans, We make Kenya!

Kenya is our nation,
Kenya defines us,
A complete set,
We are,
As Kenyans,

We are Kenyans, We make Kenya!

Kenya is you,
Kenya is me,
We are part of Kenya,
Kenya our beloved nation,
People make a nation

We are Kenyans, We make Kenya!

In a various ways,
We may differ,
But together,
We are part,
Part of a complete set,
That is Kenya!

We are Kenyans, We make Kenya!

We have variety,
Variety of culture,
Of color,
Of style,
Of beliefs,
Of language,
Of lots more,
Our variety defines us,
Our variety is our beauty,
Variety is good,
No boredom in variety,
Our variety should be,
The strength of our nation

We are Kenyans, We make Kenya!

    Your poetry!
    Too many repetitions
Length does not always provide quality.
The core is weak and needs more emotions
Once you finish, read it at loud voice to see if the poem convey the same feelings.
Better let someone else read it to you; listen if it conveys the same gut feeling.

Don’t stop writing, it is only constructive criticism. You tried some don’t.
    Cute blog

Much as I love Kenya (and this poem), I must say that We are not all Kenyans. Examples: the Kenyan government no longer issues IDs to Kenyans of Somali descent, citing terrorism as their reason (even though we all know US$ is the reason). And what about the Maasai and the Turkana and the Borana and all those forgotten Kenyans in North Eastern and the upper parts of the Rift Valley? What of the Kenyans in Migingo and Ugingo islands where our government has allowed Uganda to appropriate Kenyan land? The WE of Kenya only refers to the middle and upper classes who live in the leafy parts of Nairobi.

      Thanks for appreciating my poem..
The poor and the rich, the have and have not, no matter the inequalities that may be, we are all people of a Nation. Everyone contributes in making the Nation what it is…be it positively or negatively….
I’m not from the leafy suburbs, but I’m still one of the Nationalists…
